One thing you will find when you go through my website is that beyond the wheelchair, beyond the disability; there is my relationship with Jesus Christ. What He has done for me is more than I can express, but enough for me to dedicate a large portion of my life serving him as a Chaplain, Preacher and Pastor for nearly 20 years. I do this because of what I have learned and experienced as He has been so faithful to me and my family. As I work out my time on this earth I will always look for the opportunity to show how simply awesome Jesus Christ is: And I want to introduce Him to you the way he was introduced to me.

Getting to know Jesus Christ starts with a Realization and ends with a Relationship. God’s desire is that you come to know him personally. He has made “getting saved” so easy; everyone can do it:

I Realized that I was a sinner

Growing up I wasn’t really a “Bad Person”, I actually tried to be the good guy. However, God sees sin as sin, no matter how “good or bad” we are we have a sin condition that needs to be dealt with. The Bible even says that the “though of foolishness is sin” (Proverbs 24:9); if nothing else… I had my share of foolish thoughts:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

In order to accept God’s gift we must recognize that when we sin (do things against God) that sin separates us from God and has a price that must be paid:

Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death;

I Recognized what Jesus Christ did for Me

When you get over the hurtle that we are sinners in need of a Saviour, it’s time to recognize what Christ did for us.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Jesus Christ paid our sin debt and presented it to us as a gift:

Romans 6:23b but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When I was in the Air Force I reached a low point in my life and I started looking for answers. This is when Christ became real to me. I went after information with the same passion as I did the military; I was determined to find the truth.

I Turned from My Sin and Turned to Jesus Christ

Repentance is a Bible word that means “to turn” or change Direction. When I turned from sin and the world and turned to Jesus Christ I received a clean slate, old things were passed away, behold all things became new.

(2 Corinthians 5:17)

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I Received Christ’s Gift

In a little church outside of Fort Bragg I accepted the truth and started down a new path. This new path had a few bumps in the road, but my Saviour took each step with me. By faith; I trusted what the Bible said.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

My desire is that you see that Jesus is the only way to Heaven, but more that that is the incredible joy of having your sins forgiven; it is transforming.

Now, I can’t pray for you, but I can pray with you. If you would like to pray to God something like this:

“Lord God, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and I accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer (or something like that), and really meant it, You are saved!

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
